Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, December 5, 2006

Attending: Board Members Tom Auciello, Mike Grueter, Dona McAdam, and Allan Swensson.

The meeting was called to order at 7:27pm.

  1. Approval of the October and November minutes was postponed until they are more complete. We will vote online.
  2. The Treasurer's report is available on the ExChange.
  3. Old Business
    1. Capital Improvement Project - Resource Center Upgrades
      1. Projection Screen Upgrade - no new news.
    2. Exchange Update Project
      1. No new news.
    3. Fundraising
      1. Classes - to be held following the Saturday Cafés (after 12:30pm), weekdays, or Sunday afternoons.
        1. FileMaker Pro class with Bruce Robertson - Mike will contact Bruce to see when it will be scheduled.
        2. Quarterly Xcode/Cocoa classes with the Xcoder SIG folks - Mike will contact Joe Heck to see when it will be scheduled.
        3. Mike Grueter will lead a class on iWeb on January 27th.
        4. Beginning UNIX could be held again in February.
        5. Mac Maintenance could be held again in March.
    4. Web Site
      1. Mike Grueter reported that normal maintenance and article updates were done this month.
    5. Newsletter
      1. Dona and Karen completed the November and December issues.
    6. Bylaws Revision - looks good so far, Tom will meet with Nancy on Dec 13th to continue the process. Once the suggestions are complete and in place, we recommend the BoD hold a meeting to focus only on ByLaws changes. Submit changed ByLaws to membership for comment prior to voting on changes.
  4. New Business
    1. Upcoming Main Meetings
      1. December - Holiday Party
      2. January - Macworld recap on 3rd Wednesday
      3. February - VOIP with Tom Auciello and Fred Taub
      4. March - ?
    2. A couple of the guys in the Xcoders SIG have asked if there's a "corporate sponsor" option for dBug. Basically there are two folks with companies who may be willing to donate some money to help support dBug. Joe Heck no idea how much, or what a typical expectation is in return for that sort of donation. He would welcome any insight/direction.
      The BoD OKed this idea and would like to follow up with the interested parties. Mike will let Joe know.
    3. Nancy Siberg needs mailing labels and stamps for those people who choose to get MacNews by U.S. mail instead of by e-mail. The list and stamps should be sent to her or left for her at the RC before the last Saturday of each month.
    4. Karen Lindner and Dan Neal asked that the MUG discount codes be published with the offers in the dBug Benefits conference on the ExChange. This has been done and volunteers have been asked to maintain this on an ongoing basis.
    5. Dropped membership exit interviews - 1st contact should be: your membership has lapsed, we want you back. 2nd contact should be questionnaire: e-mail Tom has ideas and will revisit this in January.
    6. There was additional discussion about the benefits of being a dBug Member.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm.
