Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, October 3, 2006

Attending: Board Members Mike Grueter, Dona McAdam, and Allan Swensson.

The meeting was called to order at 7:26pm.

  1. Dona moved to accept the September minutes as written, Mike seconded the motion, and the motion was approved unanimously.
  2. The Treasurer's report is available on the ExChange.
  3. Old Business
    1. Capital Improvement Project - Resource Center Upgrades
      1. Projection Screen Upgrade - no new news.
    2. Exchange Update Project
      1. No new news.
    3. Fundraising
      1. Classes - to be held following the Saturday Cafés (after 12:30pm), weekdays, or Sunday afternoons.
        1. FileMaker Pro class with Bruce Robertson - Mike will contact Bruce to see when it will be scheduled.
        2. Quarterly Xcode/Cocoa classes with the Xcoder SIG folks - Mike will contact Joe Heck to see when it will be scheduled.
        3. Mac Basics by Wil Nelson is scheduled for November 4th.
        4. Mike Grueter will lead a class on iWeb toward the end of the year or early next year.
    4. Web Site
      1. Mike Grueter reported that normal maintenance and article updates were done this month.
    5. Newsletter
      1. Dona and Karen completed the September issue of MacNews and are working on the October issue.
    6. Volunteer Checklist on dBug Web Page - The BoD decided to keep it simple instead of putting up a big form
    7. The first meeting of the new Genealogy SIG is on for October 5th.
  4. New Business
    1. Upcoming Main Meetings
      1. October - Christmas cards and calendars in iPhoto, holiday photo web pages in iWeb (Dona and Mike)
      2. November Meeting - The Omni Group
      3. December - Holiday Party
      4. January - Macworld recap on 3rd Wednesday
    2. Board Elections - no new news.
    3. Proposed Class Topic - Migrating to Mac from Windows would need a person well-versed in Windows to help run it

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
