Attending: Board Members Tom Auciello, Mike Grueter, Dona McAdam, and Allan Swensson, as well as Members Karen Lindner and Wil Nelson.
The meeting was called to order at 7:16pm.
- The June draft minutes were modified to change the adjournment time to to 8:28pm, and note the Board members that made and seconded motions. Tom moved to accept the amended minutes, Dona seconded the motion, and the motion was approved unanimously.
- The Treasurer reported that dBug has about $3,150 in the bank which is down from the last report because we had no Main Meeting since June, no MacNews in July, and we spent some money on the picnic. We recommend moving the picnic back to August and having a July Main Meeting next year.

- Newsletter
- The August issue of MacNews is complete and in the mailing process. The September issue is in progress. dBug needs a new editor and reporters. Mike will post a volunteer request to the web site.
- Main Meeting
- The picnic in July was excellent and the BoD recommends the same location (Hamlin Park in Shoreline) next year. If we have the picnic in the middle of the day as we did this year, we should move the date back to the traditional August so that we can have a Main Meeting in July.

New Business
- Upcoming Main Meetings
- September - FileMaker Pro 8.5
- October - Christmas cards and calendars in iPhoto, holiday photo web pages in iWeb?
- November Meeting - Omni? or Delicious?
- December - Holiday Party
- Board Elections - we need an elections committee (Nancy?, Karen, Bill?, Dick?). Voting in October, November ballot counting, January new Board.
- The new projector has two problems: 1 the color has degraded, it is washed out and muddy, 2 the vertical adjustability is maybe an inch at most. Karen will get the receipt to Mike and Mike will attempt to return it for a replacement.
- Mike will start planning an iWeb class on building and hosting simple web sites (.Mac, Comcast, Verizon?) Possibly show a quick preview at an upcoming Main Meeting. Schedule the class for late October.
- Karen is leaving and dBug needs a new Treasurer. BoD Members will ask other dBug Members if they can take over this critical volunteer position.
- In order to simplify the MacNews editor's job, the Board proposes that we schedule 12 Members to write 1 article each per year. The articles should be planned to print around the time of a class or main meeting related to the topic. The writers should sign-up for a specific month and have their article in at least a week prior to print time. Suggested writers are Wil, Mike, John, Bruce, Lon, Chris, Dan. Mike will contact them and see if they are interested.
- Wil proposed a new Membership type called the "Classic Mac Membership". New Members would pay $100 for their first year of dBug Membership and also get a used Mac.
- Will will host another Mac Maintenance class on November 4th.
- Upcoming Main Meetings
The meeting was adjourned at 9:07pm.
