Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, February 7, 2006

Attending: Board Members Tom Auciello, Mike Grueter, Dona McAdam, and Allan Swensson, and Members Karen Lindner and Wil Nelson.

The meeting was called to order at 7:25pm.

  1. The January Minutes were accepted unanimously.
  2. Old Business
    1. Capital Improvement Project - Resource Center Upgrades
      1. Mike motioned that we buy a new Microtek CX6 DLP Multimedia Projector (recommended by Caryn Roberts and Cathy Doser) at $999.00, and then sell the old projector (splitting proceeds with Evan), Dona seconded the motion, the vote was unanimous.
    2. Exchange Update Project
      1. Tom Auciello and Michelle Honey are willing to help Curtis with testing of the new ExChange system. Tom will contact Curtis. Mike will contact Michelle and get her talking to Curtis.
    3. Fundraising
      1. Classes - to be held following the Saturday Cafés (after 12:30pm), weekdays, or Sunday afternoons.
        1. We would like Bill Campbell to hold another UNIX Basics class on March 25th. Mike will contact Bill and see if this is possible.
        2. April is a possibility for a WebObjects Basics class.
        3. Dona McAdam will take over setting up the Photoshop class from Mike. May 6th is a possible date.
        4. A music composition class is another idea.
        5. Ladybug-styled two-button optical mice will be available for sale at dBug meetings for $20 while supplies last.
    4. Web Site
      1. Mike reported that aside from normal maintenance and article updates, the membership dues amounts have been updated on both the dBug Web site and Kagi.
    5. Newsletter
      1. Karen Lindner has taken over the newsletter project and would like help.
    6. Main Meeting
      1. The topic for the March Main Meeting will be "Buying a new Mac".
  3. New Business
    1. The Board will announce (via the ExChange and the newsletter) to the membership that dBug would like a Publicity Committee.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
