Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, December 6, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7:20pm.

Present were Board Members Cathy Doser, Mike Grueter, Karen Lindner, Caryn Roberts, and Allan Swensson, and members Dick Harrell and Wil Nelson.

  1. Approval of November Minutes was unanimous.
  2. Treasurer's Report - see Karen Lindner's report on the ExChange.
  3. Old Business
    1. Sublet dBug space proposal - Caryn has asked Delicious if they are interested in sub-leasing, but has not gotten a response.
    2. The recommendations page has been updated, there is a new Music SIG area.
    3. Dona has the content for a new newsletter and is working on it.
    4. Evan Kentop seems interested in buying the projector. We will either sell it to him for $200, or sell it to the highest bidder and split the proceeds with him and buy a new one.
  4. New Business
    1. The Election Committee has announced that Tom Auciello, Mike Grueter, Dona McAdam, and Allan Swensson have been elected as dBug's Board of Directors for 2006.
    2. Bill Campbell has expressed interest in becoming the 5th Board Member.
    3. Clark Schroeder's new Music SIG has picked up with some advertising. There were 12 attendees at the 2nd meeting.
    4. Still no word from the Genealogy SIG folks.
    5. Classes
      1. Unix Class (tentatively set for January 28th)
      2. WebObjects (maybe February or March)
      3. Xcode/Cocoa - Quarterly (Check with George)
      4. Follow 'Missing Manual' series as the book for iMovie/iDVD, iPhoto, OS X
      5. MacBasics Class - Quarterly
      6. MacAdvanced Class - Quarterly?
    6. Upcoming Monthly Events
      1. December will be a holiday party. A great accessible location in Renton was chosen. See the ExChange for details.
      2. January will feature a report from Macworld, and the meeting will be held on the 3rd Wednesday instead of the usual 2nd Wednesday. Mike will contact Bruce, John, Charles, Dan, Curtis, and Dick to see if they will present.
      3. February - Curtis will do a Wireless Security presentation, and there will be a Microsoft Usability Pitch.
      4. March - Buying a New Mac: Waiting for Intel?
      5. April - Video Podcasting: How to make your project Video iPod capable
