Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, August 2, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7:25pm.

Attending: Board Members Cathy Doser, Caryn Roberts, and Karen Lindner, and Members Lew Comenetz and Wil Nelson.

  1. The Minutes from June 2005 were accepted as read except for an updating of the upcoming meetings.
  2. The current Treasurer's report noted that dBug had $4,672.99 at the end of July. The Capital Improvement Campaign has collected about $1,500. There needs to be a link to information about the Capital Campaign and the way to donate through PayPal on the web site. Thank you notes will be sent soon.
  3. Old Business
    1. Karen and Wil announced that the Intro to Mac Maintenance Class is ready except for the Killer Tiger Tips book which is still in press. Karen will call the publisher to check on the release date. Class will be scheduled 3 or 4 weeks after the book is available. $35 a 2 hour class.
    2. It was suggested that the link to Amazon for buying that or anything else on Amazon be displayed higher and bigger on dBug's home page.
    3. Get schedule from Mike and Baiss for WebObjects Intro class. Announce on website ... A Class schedule page addition?
    4. Schedule with Bill Campbell for a Unix Class
    5. Schedule with Gordon for a bring your own machine Digital Video Class
    6. There is a great need for cooks at the picnic next week since Mike is unavailable and cannot bring his grill either. If anyone has a truck big enough, he will lend before he leaves town.
    7. Fircrest in Shoreline may be a good place for next year's picnic. Lots of off street parking.
    8. Mike reported by email that the Fax works through Accessline, and there is no way to answer the phone at the RC without another number.
    9. Mike will hold a SIG leaders' meeting emphasizing advertising for SIG topics.
    10. Some info was discovered about the Final Cut Pro group that is joining our Digital Video SIG. They were added into dBug's online calendar and we asked them to add our links to their link page.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:15pm.
