Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Wednesday, April 5, 2000

Attending: Ken Winkenweder, Bruce Robertson, Jon Phaff, Dona McAdam, Mark Jacobson, Tish Bailey, Brian Rush, Dick Carter, Charles Wheeler, Dana Klein, Shaun McClurken, Joyce Schowalter

Absent: David Krafchick

Minutes of board meeting, 3/1/00, read and approved.

Reports:
Membership: Bruce Robertson. 13 renewing, 4 new members. Still working on member numbering proposal.

Newsletter: Tish Bailey. Introduced new replacement editor, Shaun McClurken.

SIGs: Mark Jacobson. SIGs doing fine.

Basic Class: Tish Bailey. $541 net Profit. Will not use Handle for future classes. Too much effort to rent and setup. Considering a follow-up class if can find suitable site.

Main Meeting: Ken Winkenweder and Charles Wheeler. Thanked Charles for great March video meeting. Adam Engst is scheduled speaker this month. Subject will be e-mail using Eudora, and cross platform PC to Mac.

ExChange: Dana Klein. For those connecting to dBUG as direct dial in via the TCP/IP or our Internet members, please use our old dedicated number 624 8783. This line belongs to dBUG and in case ELI changes phone numbers, our dial in number will remain the same.

As of 4/6/00, we should have more newsgroups available on the ExChange.

Inet Cashier: Brian Rush. We have 48 members using dBUG as their Internet source.

Old Business: Still working on acquiring a new projector.

New Business: Mark Jacobsen. Presented schematic of how he would like SIG conference to look. Dana informed him that he is the moderator of that conference and he has the ability to add folders, etc. within the conference. Dana also impressed that anyone who wishes to attend the ExChange Planning committee which meets on the first Saturday of each month are more than welcome to come present their ideas. A detailed presentation portfolio is recommended so the ExChange Committee will know exactly what the presenter is asking them to do.

Charles Wheeler suggested we sell sponsorships (aka, advertising time) to various industry related companies to have their logo, or advertisement flashing on the screen prior to main meetings. Suggested $100 would give them a 1/8th page ad in the newsletter plus the 1/2 hour time prior to main meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
