Introduction to Genealogy Class

Presented by Lou Daly
When: 1 - 4pm, Saturday April 19, 2008
Where: dBug Resource Center

Family TreeWho were your ancestors?
Where did they live?
How did they get there?
What well known events did they take part in?
Are the family stories really true?
Do you have any famous ancestors?
What family stories are out there that you don't know about?
Who are your second, third and fourth cousins?
How much are you like the rest of your family?
Where did your special talents come from?

What do you want to find out about your family?

Join us for an introductory class in finding, recording, and sharing your family history using the Internet and traditional resources. We'll go from the known into the adventurous unknown and, hopefully by the end of the afternoon you will have information that you never knew existed. No previous experience necessary. We'll be covering the basics. Bring your laptop if you wish.

Instructor Lou Daly has 40+ years experience in genealogy, is a graduate of the University of Washington Genealogy and Family History Certificate Program, leads the dBug/SGS Genealogy SIG, and is a member of numerous local and national genealogical societies.

How much do you already know? If possible, before the class, download this pedigree chart, fill in as much as you can, and bring the chart with you to class. (Make an additional copy for each branch of your family where you have information on more than four generations.)

Register Now! Seating is limited. Please click this link to register for the event through Kagi, or register with your name and e-mail address via this link and pay at the door (please show up early if you want to pay at the door). The $25 tuition goes to support dBug.
